PSA Manual Gearboxes (BE4, BE4R & ML6C)

Whether it's a worn input shaft bearing or a damaged selector hub causing a crunch, we fully strip and remanufacture these transverse manual units to restore factory-smooth shifting.

  • BE4 / BE4R (5-Speed): An incredibly common gearbox that often suffers from whining bearings and difficult gear selection as mileage increases.

    • Models Covered: Peugeot 206, 207, 208, 308, Partner vans; Citroën C3, C4, Berlingo.

  • ML6C (6-Speed): Built for higher-torque engines and commercial use, but prone to selector hub wear and 3rd/4th gear synchro issues.

    • Models Covered: Peugeot 308, 508, Expert vans; Citroën Dispatch; Vauxhall Grandland, Vivaro (newer shapes).

PSA Automatic Transmissions (EAT6 & EAT8 / AL4)

  • EAT6 & EAT8 (Aisin Automatics): These 6 and 8-speed torque converter automatics are generally reliable but can suffer from sticking solenoids in the valve body, leading to harsh, thumping gear changes (especially when hot). We can test, rebuild, and service the valve body to resolve this.

  • AL4 / DPO (Older 4-Speed Automatics): Notorious for "Gearbox Fault" warnings on the dashboard and going into "limp mode." We are experts at replacing the pressure regulation valves to cure these faults permanently.
